St Peters Social FC - For 50 years!

1962 - 2012


Commencing with their first game in 1962 as 'St Peter's Athletic', joining the North East Sunday League for season 1962-63 in the 'D' division. Within 4 seasons they had played their way to the Premier Divison!

Having stayed in the top division, St Peter's won their first major trophy, The Bob Younger Assoc. Cup, in the 1977-78 season. The following season, 1978-79 winning the Frank Brennan Cup.


The following years led to the leanest times for the team, when a series of relegations led them to fall into the 'F' division.


Since the 1990's the team have had a great run of success, following a promotion they went on to win their subsequent "leagues 3 years in a row" on their way back to the Premier, whilst also winning the Gaskill Irons Cup in 1995-96. This season the team also had a slight name change, the Athletic was dropped in favour of Social.

The start of the century saw relegations and promotions, 2008-09 saw the team regaining their premier status as "Champions of the 'B' division".



The following season was the most successful in the clubs long history due to the completion of an "historic treble" by winning their first Premier League title to go with the Bob Younger Assoc. Cup and NFA Sunday Minor Cup.

The season just ended (2013 )has seen the team finish runners-up in the top league, and being unluckily beaten finalists in the Minor Cup on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Blue Star.
